❞ Official Statement Regarding the Declination of the Presidency of the Arab Writers Union in Eastern Europe** To the esteemed members of the Arab Writers Union, Dear fellow writers and literary colleagues, Warm literary greetings, I am honored to address you with this statement to clarify my position regarding my appointment as President of the Arab Writers Union in Eastern Europe, which I received with deep appreciation and respect. This appointment represented a tremendous honor for me, and a distinction I truly value, given your esteemed Union\'s standing as an authentic Arab cultural institution, and the grave responsibilities this position entails toward advancing Arabic literature in Eastern Europe. However, after profound reflection and careful consideration of my personal circumstances and current capabilities, and with full awareness of the significant demands and responsibilities of this noble position, I find myself obliged to decline this appointment, without having officially assumed the role. I would like to emphasize that this decision stems primarily from my commitment to the collective literary endeavor, and secondarily from my personal circumstances. It in no way diminishes my utmost respect for the Union and its members, nor my recognition of the magnitude of the task at hand. I extend my sincerest wishes for the continued growth and brilliance of the honorable Union, confident that the incoming leadership will rise to the occasion and prove worthy of the trust placed in them to fulfill this mission and realize our shared aspirations. I reaffirm my commitment to continue contributing to literature and culture through my writings and creative works, and I shall always remain an active member of this great cultural institution, albeit without holding an official leadership position. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. In every trial, there is a blessing. This earthquake has revealed a great and profound goodness in the hearts of this noble nation. All segments of the population have felt pain, shed tears, and contributed money and effort to alleviate the suffering of the affected. This strong goodness stems from the values of Islam, which have saturated the land of Morocco, and which we should appreciate and contemplate in order to continue this goodness and generous giving, and to eradicate the earthquake of ignorance, poverty, unemployment, envy, hatred, animosity, and moral crisis. This can be achieved through the guidance and instructions of our scholars, sheikhs, jurists, wise men, experts, and civil society activists - in short, the elite of the Moroccan people. We are confident that people are waiting for someone to guide them and set the path for them, so that the train of goodness, giving, construction, and reform can depart.
