Violence against women and society support them
A field study on a sample of women in the city of Makkah
This study aimed to uncover the nature of the relationship between violence against women
and the different kinds of social support of a sample of women in the city Makkah .
Study Hypothesis :
١) There are no statistically significant differences in average levels of social support
between highlands and lowlands on the scale of violence against women.
٢) There are no statistically significant differences between the averages degrees type of
violence (psychological - physical - verbal), against women according to age at changing
personnel sample.
٣) There are no statistically significant differences between the averages degrees type of
violence (psychological - physical - verbal), against women according to the social situation.
٤) There are no statistically significant differences between the averages degrees type of
violence (psychological - physical - verbal), against women as economic level personnel
sample.
٥) There is no statistically significant difference between the average grades types of social
support for women depending on the changing age when individuals sample.
٦) There are no statistically significant differences between the averages degrees types of
social support for women according to the social situation when members of the sample.
٧) There are no statistically significant differences between the averages degrees types of
social support for women as economic level when individuals sample.
٨) There is no relationship with a statistically significant correlation between the type of
violence (psychological - physical - verbal), against women, and the various dimensions of
social support.
Study Procedures :
Study sample consisted of (٣٠٠) woman from different social levels, and women between the
ages of (١٥ - ٥٠) the average age of (٣٠ - ٣٤).
Study Instrument :
١ - no statistically significant differences in average levels of social support, between the
highlands and lowlands on the scale of violence against women.
٢ - No statistically significant differences in the degree of physical and psychological
violence against women according to a changing age.
٣ - there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (٠٫٠٥) degrees of
verbal violence against women, according to a changing age.
